Romania and Iceland maintain solid diplomatic and economic relations, based on their shared membership of the European space for economic cooperation and security.
- Iceland is a member of the European Economic Area (EEA) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), enabling broad market access for Romanian and Icelandic businesses.
- Diplomatic relations are supported through permanent cooperation mechanisms between the two countries.
